Dangerous, illegal counterfeit prescription medicines are being imported to the UK from China and Korea and injected into the public without their knowledge or consent.

Ā

We are asking the public to be safe and be alert!

Environmental Health and Public Health Scotland want to know if you have been injected with or sold any prescription-only medicine listed below without a face-to-face medical consultation with a prescribing healthcare professional. These drugs are prescription-only medicines for a reason; they have to be restricted and controlled due to their serious side effects.

  • Botox or equivalent anti-wrinkle toxin
  • Saxenda (weight loss)
  • Ozempic (weight Loss)
  • Kenalog
  • B12
  • Hyalase (Filler dissolving medicine)

POMs purchased from a regulated UK pharmacy are expensive.

A low price is a strong indicator thatĀ the product you are being offered is untested and has been sourced and purchased via the internet, imported, andĀ not approved for use in the UK by MHRA.

Calling all Healthcare Professionals.

Consider joining your respective associationĀ for continuous learning and development.

Ā

The UK Medical Aesthetics Safety Group currently operates as the Scottish Medical Aesthetics Safety Group. We do not host or provide face-to-face networking events, which allows us to promote a free membership model for all HCPs for maximum engagement.

We fully support these professional associations, as detailed below, that provide network events and fully encourage you to join them!
